Three supply types

| Supply | What it means | How the lead time is given | Cancellation (demo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stocked | Kept in our warehouse | Ships once quantity is confirmed | Before shipping |
| Sourced | Sourced from the maker or upstream | Estimated on the quotation | Before sourcing |
| Made to order | Built on the maker's schedule | Estimated on the quotation; changes notified | Usually not once ordered |
Quotation and trade terms (demo)
| Item | Terms |
|---|---|
| Quotation validity | Stated on the quotation (demo: 30 days) |
| Minimum pack | By model, stated on the quotation |
| Payment | Bank transfer for first orders; monthly terms can be agreed later |
| Invoice | Electronic invoice, with the company number if needed |
| Delivery charge | By region and weight, stated on the quotation |
| Returns | Wrong-spec items are handled once both sides confirm; made-to-order items cannot be cancelled or returned |
| Warranty | Handled under the maker's terms |
Supply types in the catalogue are examples; stock changes and the quotation states the actual lead time
Orders and quantities
Is there a minimum order?
It depends on the model; the quotation states the minimum pack (demo terms)
Can I get samples first?
Small samples of stocked items can be requested; made-to-order items usually have none (demo)
Can deliveries be split?
Note the dates in the use field and we confirm them with the quotation
Lead time and substitutes
How is the lead time worked out?
By supply type; sourced and made-to-order items have an estimate on the quotation
What if my model is discontinued?
Use the substitute lookup, or send the old code and a drawing; your engineers decide on the swap
Can you handle rush orders?
Put the date and mark it urgent; we check stock and sourcing time first
Documents and payment
Can you provide certificates?
Whatever the maker provides; say which one you need when you ask
How are invoices issued?
Electronic invoice, with the company number if needed (demo)
What are the payment terms?
Bank transfer at first; monthly terms once there is a track record (demo terms)
Models, quantities, dates, drawings on one quote list
Add models from the catalogue, then set quantities, dates and uses, attach drawings and generate a demo quote

Drawings stay confidential: on a live site only the people preparing the quote see them, for quoting and checking specs, never published or used for anything else, and deleted on request. In this demo, files never leave your computer
