02 / ESTIMATE

Subsidy, rent or buy And will it fit up the stairs

Choose a status, a subsidy group, an item and how many months; what you pay, the three-year allowance and the rent-or-buy comparison update. Then enter the floor, lift and stair width to see whether it can be delivered

  • Per Ministry of Health and Welfare notices, data as of 2026-09-17
  • A demo estimate; the care manager's assessment and approval decide the real amount
  • Example prices and example item caps; a delivered site uses the shop's prices and the official price caps

03 / RENT OR BUY

Rent or buy It depends how long

For a short time, or while you see whether it suits, rent; for daily use over a long time, buying usually costs less. The estimate shows the month renting stops paying off

Back to the estimate
01

Renting suits

The weeks after a hospital stay, or while you see whether it works; the deposit is refunded and we collect at the end

02

Buying suits

Daily use over a long time; personal hygiene items such as the commode chair are sale only

03

Rent, then buy

Demo rule: switch to buying within 2 months and half the rent paid comes off the price; the shop's own rules apply

04 / SUBSIDY

Long-term care equipment subsidy Four numbers first

  • 40,000Group one, traditional NT$ limit every 3 years
  • 60,000Group two, smart technology NT$ limit every 3 years, up to 20,000 for home accessibility work
  • 1 of 2You choose one group
  • 17Group two rental only from 2026-07-01 Items in the first approved batch

Per Ministry of Health and Welfare notices, data as of 2026-09-17 · Amounts are limits; the actual subsidy depends on status and approval · Ministry of Health and Welfare release (2026-07-01, Chinese)

05 / IN ORDER

Applying for a subsidy In this order

Approval first, then buy or rent

  1. 01

    Call 1966 to apply

Or contact your city or county long-term care management centre; for a family member in hospital, the discharge planning service can start it before they go home

  2. 02

    A care manager assesses

A home visit sets the long-term care level; if equipment is needed, an assistive device assessor confirms the items and writes a report

  3. 03

    Approval arrives

The approval notice lists the items and the allowance you can use; choose and order only after it arrives

  4. 04

Buy or rent from a contracted shop

The invoice must be dated after approval; in some areas the contracted shop deducts the subsidy up front and you pay your share

  5. 05

    Claim

The invoice and documents are submitted under local rules, and the allowance is drawn down

Equipment bought before approval cannot be claimed afterwards

06 / DELIVERY

Delivered, set up Then it is done

Delivered to the room at an agreed time, assembled and shown in use; the old bed or chair can leave on the same van, and rentals are collected when they end

  2. 02

    Old items taken away

The old bed or chair leaves on the same van, from NT$ 800 (example)

  3. 03

    Collection when a rental ends

A reminder before the end date, then we dismantle and collect; the deposit is refunded after a check

  4. 04

    Cleaning and checks

Returned rentals are cleaned, disinfected and checked, with a record for each one, before renting again

Service areas are a placeholder filled in at launch; in-stock items arrive in 2–3 working days (example), and you can book once a discharge date is set

07 / SHOWROOM & VISITS

Try it in the showroom Or have us measure at home

A shop that sells and rents home care equipment. Beds, chairs and wheelchairs wait in the showroom to be tried; when needed we visit to measure doors, stairs and bedside space before you decide to buy, rent or apply for a subsidy

  • Subsidies shown as dated limits
  • Rent or buy worked out first
  • Stairs checked before delivery

Try it in the showroom

Care beds, recliners and wheelchairs are in the showroom to try with your family; seat width, seat height and handle position can be measured on the spot

Home visit

We measure doors, stairs and landings, bedside space and the way to the toilet, check the route in, then quote

  • Door width and the narrowest stair
  • Whether a bed frame turns at the landing
  • Space beside the bed and to turn a wheelchair
  • Whether the wall by the toilet can take a grab bar

A shop visit measures the space and shows how things work; it is not the long-term care equipment assessment

08 / WARRANTY

Years later Someone still fixes it

Home checks during the warranty, and faulty rentals replaced by the shop; the years below are examples

  • Care bed

Motor 2 years, frame 1 year

  • Power wheelchair

Controller and motor 1 year, battery 6 months

  • Manual wheelchair & walker

    Frame 1 year

  • Home repairs

Home checks inside the service area; bring it to the showroom from further away

  • Rentals

Faults not caused by use are replaced at home by the shop

Warranty years are examples; a delivered site uses the maker's warranty and the shop's terms

09 / QUESTIONS

Before you order A few answers

Subsidy steps, renting and buying, delivery and ordering only; health needs and suitable equipment are for the care manager or a health professional to assess

Can I rent or buy before approval?

You can pay for it yourself. Note that anything bought or rented before approval cannot be claimed afterwards; to use the subsidy, order from a contracted shop once approval arrives

Can I apply for both groups?

No, you choose one. Group one, traditional equipment, has a limit of NT$ 40,000 every three years and can be bought or rented; group two, smart technology equipment, has a limit of NT$ 60,000 every three years and has been rental-only since 2026-07-01

Our stairs are narrow. Can a care bed get up?

Enter the floor, lift and stair width in the check above. A care bed comes apart into head, foot and frame; if the stairs are too narrow it needs lifting in from outside, or a smaller model can be rented instead

What happens when a rental ends?

We remind you before the end date: extend, switch to buying, or book a time for us to dismantle and collect it. Returned items are cleaned and checked before they are rented again

Can you tell us which one suits our family member?

Health needs and which equipment fits them are assessed by the care manager, an assistive device assessor or a health professional. On a home visit the shop measures the space, checks the route in and shows how things work

Can I pay when ordering online?

This is a demo website: it takes no payment and ships nothing. A delivered site can connect a payment service, and only items that may legally be sold online are offered

10 / BOOK

Book a home visit Or try it in the showroom

Choose the item and the delivery conditions to prepare an enquiry. The booking stands once the shop confirms a time

  • The item, or the daily movement that is hardest
  • The floor, whether there is a lift and roughly how wide the stairs are
  • Whether you plan to use a subsidy, rent or pay in full
  • Whether you have an approval notice
